Marcio has an extensive expeience in the strategic development of cities, in the refurbishing of urban areas and in the sustainable development of large territorial projects. Within the Integrated Landscape Development area, he has long-standing collaborations with companies such as Vale, Petrobras, OGX and Veracel, all of them significant players in the Brazilian scenario.
In Public Partnerships on behalf of cities, he has led important social and urban reorganization initiatives such as Rio de Janeiro and Nova Iguaçu’s PAC (Growth Acceleration Program), the redevelopment Salvador and Recife’s Historical Centers as well as the revitalization of important areas in Fortaleza and Corumbá. Marcio was actively involved in several Megacity discussions at Eco 92.
He idealized and established two significant cultural initiatives in Rio de Janeiro: Circo Voador and Fundição Progresso. Both projects catalyzed the cultural rebirth of the Lapa neighborhood and of the city itself.
Marcio founded Agencia 21 (1994), Rever Urbano and Instituto Rever , all of them with a significant track record in urban development and cultural initiatives. He is a civil engineer and an urbanist.
